Sara Beth and Dave met during Oktoberfest 2007 while performing with John Leiprandt’s German Connection at the Stein Haus in Bay City, MI. How they each came to be there you can read about in their personal stories below. They found a shared love for the atmosphere and authentic German music of the occasion.

Many years (and Ein Prosits 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻) later, the Stein Haus sadly closed and the gigs came to an end. Dave and Sara Beth, being highly distraught (for lack of Oktoberfest draught), decided to put together a new band and Fröhliche Musiker Blasorchester was born! They gathered a group of highly-skilled musicians (which means they had to own lederhosen or dirndl, and a beer stein), chose the most popular Oktoberfest songs (serious internet research was done), and spent countless hours rehearsing (which might of been 2 or 3, but, as noted above, we weren’t counting).

The end result is a band that is amazing to listen to and provides a fun, interactive performance which has entertained audiences young and old since 2017! We perform throughout the year at community events, breweries, even beach parties! Give us enough space to set up our 14-piece band and a little room for a dance floor and we are good to go! Our favorite time of year is Oktoberfest season, but we also celebrate other German holidays such as: Wurstfest (November), Fasching (February – March), and Maifest (May).
